Would you like a closer and more harmonious relationship with your 2 -6 year old? Register for our 6-week ONLINE course, "Making Sense of Preschoolers & Kindergartners" today. Are your children under 2? This class can give you an excellent head start in getting ready for your child's preschool years.

***This is the registration page for the ONLINE version of this course. Each week, participants will be able to log on to a special website where they will see and hear the presenter, view the slides, and be able to participate through chat (typing in questions/comments, etc). NO special software or knowledge is required. All you need is a high-speed internet connection (cable or DSL) and a web browser. If you are unable to make the LIVE class, a recording will be made available to you for a limited time.

This course is taught by Todd Sarner, MA MFT, Director of Transformative Parenting and is based on the internationally-recognized work of Dr. Gordon Neufeld ("Hold On to Your Kids"). Todd was personally selected by Dr. Neufeld to be one of the first participants in his professional training program and has since become a Faculty Member of the Neufeld Institute.

Here are some of the topics we'll cover in this workshop:

  • How to help your child deal with separation problems (including problems with sleep)
  • What form of "discipline" is appropriate for this age group (attachment-safe & developmentally friendly)
  • Why a young child wants to say "NO" all the time (and how to get them to work with you)
  • How rituals and compassionate limit setting can help avoid parental burnout (and make your child feel safe at the same time)
  • Why separation based discipline (like Time Outs and 1-2-3 Magic) can actually backfire.
  • Why it's critically important to let children have their tears (and how tears actually assist in your childs' development)
  • How to handle the problems that can occur between siblings (including multiples)
  • The importance of providing more contact & closeness to your child than they ask for (before they ask for it)
  • How to tune in to your child's own specific needs and sensitivities
  • And much more.

The course will be held on Thursday mornings from 10am-11:30am for six weeks starting Thursday, May 13th, 2010. These times are PACIFIC time, so adjust accordingly.

Before the class start date, you will receive an email with the website address for the class, a username, and password. You will also receive a link to a copy of the class slides for printing out. And as we mentioned above, the class will be recorded each week and if you miss the class (or want to review material), you will be able to watch the recording for a 5-6 days before the next class.

***NEW three-payment option*** To make it easier for people to pay for this six-week course, we now offer a three-payment option through PayPal. You pay 3 payments of $45- one when you sign up, one after the third week of class, and one after the last week of class. There is only $6 extra in total fees because of the extra Paypal fee and admin costs. Please let us know if you'd like to have this option or if you want to apply for one of our lower-fee slots.

If you have any questions at all, please contact us.
